Lt. Col. Cleaver was the executive officer for SCN, managing operations for two television and two radio stations.

Lt. Col. Cleaver is an avid outdoorsman and fly fisherman.  He holds membership in the Pennsylvania Public Relations Society, numerous environmental organizations and is the former president of Dauphin Chapter Trout Unlimited.

Biographic Details:  

Graduated from Bloomsburg University in 1983 with a bachelor of arts degree in communications.

Has a master's degree in strategic studies from Air University, Maxwell AFB and is also a graduate of the Squadron Officers School, in residence; Air Command and Staff College; the Defense Information School's Public Affairs Officers Course; Broadcast Managers Course; and the Air War College, in residence.

Lt. Col. Cleaver received his commission through ROTC at Bloomsburg University in 1983.

His first assignment was as deputy public affairs officer, Mather Air Force Base, Calif., in 1983.

From there he was assigned to U.S. Southern Command at Fort Clayton, Panama. 

His next assignment was as public affairs officer for the 303rd Tactical Missile Wing, RAF Molesworth, England.

During his assignment, he was awarded the U.S. Air Forces in Europe-outstanding community relations award in 1987 and outstanding media relations program in 1988

His next assignment was as deputy, public affairs plans, U.S. Central Command, Tampa, Fla., in 1988.  Lt. Col. Cleaver wrote public affairs plans and guidance for U.S. forces assigned to Central Command's area of responsibility, which included Southeast Asia and the Northern Horn of Africa.

Cleaver ended his active duty service in 1990.  He joined the Pennsylvania National Guard that same year.  Since joining the Guard, he has handled dozens of high-level deployments and military initiatives.  In support of public affairs programs, he has deployed internationally to the Azores, Canada, Haiti, Jamaica, Kuwait, Lithuania, Paraguay, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates

Duties:  

Tony T (Tiger) was an on air personality. He was well known as a radio DJ and in his work on a few episodes of the "Que Pasa" TV program. He also directed some TV.

Tony was the last DJ on the air when the Canal Zone era officially ended and the first DJ which entered into the era beginning the final 2 decades of transformation into Panama. 

The final song of the CZ era was "The Way We Were." 

Tony worked all of the board shifts from Graveyard to mornings. He finished his tour in Panama as the morning man but the afternoons were his favorite. He always ended his show with, "That's gonna do it for me. Tony T as always, stand tall and keep it ever ever so tight."

Tony used to have characters on the show such as the Godfather and these adoring females who used to say his name in a very sultry manner.

Trivia:  

On  humorous note, after leaving SCN, Tony was on board ship for an oil company transiting the canal. The Canal pilot came on board, who usually goes directly to the Captain of the vessel but this time, he walked right past the Captain and put his arm around Tony and said, "Tony T, where the hell have you been?!! My daughter and I were just talking about you last night." The Captain talked about that incident for weeks!

SSG Darryl Scott Dalley:

Duties:  

Had two tours at SCN. 

He was assigned as the NCOIC of Master Control in the old engineer room with 16mm projectors and 4 VTR’s. 

After 3 years in MCO, he began working for Ken Fries, the Chief of broadcast operations making movie guides, "coming attractions and community bulletin."

He was later put in charge of Traffic & Continuity just before Just Cause, replacing SFC Bill Powell. Austin Mansfield, Josh Hart and Joan the film librarian worked with him. He continued to help in the studio and did live van shots.

When he returned in 91, he was the NCOIC TV Operations. SFC Bill Wenger arrived, and took over broadcast operations.

An avid runner who captained many of SCN's Trans-isthmian relay teams during his tours at SCN.

Duties:  

started working at SCN after his Los Angeles Broadcast Unit had performed our 2 week AT at SCN. He was the LA unit's Broadcast NCOIC, Directing the SCN Community Scene News program during their 2 week stay.

Upon returning to SCN, he started working as a field reporter covering the about town reports and other news events for the Community Scene Program. He was later assigned to the radio section hosting the "East of Midnight" Radio program and also filling in for some of the other air personalities hosting their programs.

He was an Army Reservist from Los Angeles (originally born in Pennsylvania, raised in New York)

After leaving SCN, he returned to LA, started doing Voice Over seminars between LA and New York, got back into Stage and Television Acting. He later went AGR (Active Guard Reserve) as SFC De Rixey in Los Angeles for a few years as the Broadcast and Training NCOIC for an Army Unit. He got out went back to his entertainment roots (30 years in business).

He is currently the Program Director for an R&B oldies station (70's & 80's) in LA. He also writes feature stories for the Long Beach Times, a weekly African American Newspaper (35,000 Sub). He has also been writing and composing his own film and TV scores (BMI Member) for future use, while putting together his TV/Film Production Company. He is currently working on various projects (Producing and Directing) which he hopes to sell to HBO and Showtime. Melvyn says he has had some hard times, but for the most part he is very blessed and alive and well in LA and looking forward to hearing from other SCN'ers

Duties:  

1982 - 1984 Began in the news department as an 84F, shooting and editing for Matt Townsend and Don Hammond.  Mid-year 1984 Brenda moved to T&C and automated the spot tracking system on an Apple computer. 

1992 - 1994  She returned to SCN as a SSG and worked in the Programming department with Mr. Ruben Webster. Brenda says she learned a lot in that section. 

1996 - 1998 On her third tour at SCN she was a SFC and worked in Radio and TV operations, until given the job as Broadcast Chief. Worked for a really great boss Mr. Paul Kloss. 

Trivia:  

Brenda met her current husband of 9 happy years, Ty Kendrick at SCN in July 1998. 

Biographic Details:  

After her first SCN tour, she PCSed to Fort Sill, OK and became a Drill Sergeant, then worked in a PAO shop and off to BNCOC at Lowry AFB where after graduation she stayed on as an instructor and then headed back to Panama for her second tour.

After her second SCN tour, she left SCN and went to Fort Sam Houston, TX.

After her 3rd SCN tour, she left SCN for the last time and returned to Fort Sam Houston, TX to the same job she left in 1996. 

In December 1999 Brenda retired to civilian life.
