Russ started out as a Master Control Operator, then became NCOIC of Traffic and Continuity, went on to become NCOIC of TV Spot Production Section, wrote, directed and produced PSAs and Promos for channel line up during primetime. Managed the Satellite Duplication Facility, down-linked programs and edited out commercials and sent copies to navy ships in the area and to the AFRTS Operation in Honduras. Became NCOIC of Television Operations responsible for all of the on-air operations. Assisted National Guard and Reserve units during their annual training. As the most Senior Television Production Specialist assigned to SCN, supervised the lighting of studio sets and trained station personnel in all aspects of TV production to prepare for the skill qualification tests. Appeared as Santa and read letters from kids between Saturday morning programs and made numerous appearances as Santa around the base. |
