| there was a restaurant that served great meals, and a small hotel situated on a point of high ground, with beaches stretching out both to the east and west. the beaches were spacious, uncrowded, and secluded, with cliffs that came down to meet the sea. |

one of the favorite get-a-way places for the troops was rio-mar...it sat on a point of land where a small river ran into the pacific...hence the name, literally "river-sea." there were beautiful beaches in either direction...they were spacious, and secluded. |
