cutting the lawn proved to be even tougher than
anticipated...the supervisor of the project, Sp5 Hoyer, seated on the
hood of the truck, gave the order..."all reserves in." Sp Jim
Leach joined Sp Hogan and Sgt Johnson to complete the first and only
triple-decker lawn detail in military history...this is equal to the
"quadruple" in figure skating...even the Russian judge had to
give it a 6.0. ironically...someone injured their back during this
exercise, and missed time from their regular duties...that ended the
lawn detail, and Sgt. Johnson's dreams of completing the famous
"four man high." |

when the world of "military discipline" and
our band of merry men met head on. this was one of them...someone,
possibly Sgm Sumner, decided that we should participate in the upkeep of
the building and grounds. a lawn mowing detail was established...this
was how USAF Sgt. Carl Johnson, (the hulk) and the late Paul Hogan
decided to attack the "high grass."

This was the slide that was used to do all of my "custom" I-d's.
I'd put it in the old film chain, put the photo slide in the new film
chain, and then split the fader bar on the console... that had the
effect of putting both chains on the air at the same time... because
this was black, only the letters showed through... this was made in the
art room...the little hole in the wall under the stairs, shot on a copy
stand and hand mounted as a transparency...the words "seal edge
with warm iron--do not touch film" are printed on the mount. hand
written on the opposite side is "SCN I-d super -- 50." (space
#50 in the file???)
