Uncle Bob & Sheriff Tom

aerial view of the Galliard (spelling?) cut and contractor's hill. the engineers who build the canal actually constructed a railroad to haul out the millions of tons of rock and debris from the excavation. a lot of that went to build the "causeway" at Ft. Amador.

Albrook was the home of what probably was the best food value on the planet... the 25-cent midnight breakfast

this view just catches part of Albrook field on the left. also visible Ancon Hill & Quarry Heights, and the causeway off in the distance

view of Balboa as seen from Ancon hill... the clubhouse, Balboa theatre and food store can be seen across the top of the photo

locksoverview.JPG (55447 bytes)

this is a view of the canal zone looking northwest from Ancon hill...both Miraflores locks and lake, as well as Pedro Miguel locks can be seen in the distance...was the town in the distance Gamboa?
